This year’s initiative will focus on the industry’s professionals.

FAIRFAX, Va.  — The Irrigation Association noted July 2020 has once again been designated as Smart Irrigation Month. This month-long initiative is an opportunity for the irrigation industry to promote the importance and value of smart irrigation practices.

Smart Irrigation Month kicks off on July 7 with Technology Tuesday. Irrigation professionals are encouraged to wear blue on July 7 to raise awareness about everything that makes up smart irrigation.

This year, the IA is focusing on the people behind smart irrigation, celebrating the professionals within the industry. Irrigation professionals are invited to share their stories about smart irrigation and how they have used it in their operation or promoted its benefits to customers. Go to www.smartirrigationmonth.org to share your story.

“With the challenges our industry, our country and the world are facing right now with the COVID-19 health crisis, we are proud to be able to celebrate our industry through Smart Irrigation Month,” said IA Government and Public Affairs Director John Farner. “Smart Irrigation Month is our opportunity to showcase the value and importance of efficient irrigation. Focusing on the people behind irrigation is a great way to recognize those who are making a significant impact on managing our vulnerable water supplies.”

Smart Irrigation Month serves as the showcase month for the irrigation industry and the public to recognize and promote the benefits associated with smart and efficient irrigation.

“The irrigation industry continues to be at the forefront of developing technologies and practices for the most efficient and effective use of water,” Farner said. “We look forward to celebrating the people who make it all happen during 2020 Smart Irrigation Month.”

The reels are offered in the MPD and TDMP series.

Coxreels’ dual hydraulic reels, designed for use with hydraulic tools and accessories, are offered in two configurations; the MPD and the TDMP series. As with most Coxreels spring rewind reels, the dual hydraulic reels feature single-sided access for both the spring and the swivel. The supply and return lines come in the same side of the reel into an external fluid path via a removable, dual port hydraulic swivel. This same inlet and swivel side of the reel also houses a spring cartridge motor.

This design allows for service of the main components without removal of the reel when the reel is installed into truck body boxes. Because the reel can be installed with the back side of the drum right up against a wall without concern for incoming hose lines, space utilization is improved. For capacities up to 30’ of dual hose, the MPD series features a dual axle support system with a solid steel 1” axle.

The TDMP is built for capacities up to 50’, with triple axel support, dual arm guides and stainless-steel hose guide rollers. As with all Coxreels spring retractable reels, the dual hydraulic reels feature heavy gauge steel construction, polyester powder coat, rolled and ribbed discs, a 2-year warranty and are manufactured in the U.S.

The new Video Browse and Map Search features allow clients to self-service, locate and download video.

SAN DIEGO – Lytx, a provider of machine vision and artificial intelligence-powered video telematics, analytics, productivity and safety solutions, released two new map-based search features that allow users to quickly locate video clips. Video Browse in Fleet Tracking and Map Search in Lytx Video Platform each enable fleets to self-service and immediately retrieve video footage. “These video-search features are significant advancements that enable fleets to take further advantage of their Lytx programs,” said Jim Brady, Lytx vice president of product management. “The features address common pain points by allowing fleets to more efficiently self-service in a number of scenarios, rather than toggling between programs or relying on their provider to locate and fetch clips. We’re pleased to offer Video Browse and Map Search at no additional charge so that every Lytx client can benefit from more streamlined processes and improved efficiencies, while providing high-quality service to their customers.” Video Browse, available within Lytx’s Fleet Tracking Service, integrates all of the available telematics, and links to video, directly into the Fleet Tracking map, fleet operations and safety managers will quickly understand what is happening in their fleets, whether they’re looking to monitor vehicle productivity or maintenance, track compliance or check on a customer complaint. Map Search, available to all customers who use the Lytx Video Platform, allows clients to self-locate video using only an address or point of interest and general time frame, making it easier to respond to claims, verify service or pinpoint an incident, even if the vehicle is unknown. These two new features are available to Lytx clients for no additional cost. “With around 800 vehicles, manually sifting through video footage from our event recorders isn’t feasible,” said Patrick Landreth, vice president of safety and human resources at Ozark Motor Lines, a Lytx client. “Compared to past providers, Lytx takes care of the heavy lifting, monitoring driving with its built-in analytics so we can respond quickly, protect our drivers, focus on driver coaching and maintain Ozark’s strong brand reputation for safety and service. “We love being able to see the thumbnails of video right in the Fleet Tracking map,” he added. “When we are working in that program, it’s easy to just click on a trail point and go directly to the Video Platform where we can view it and see, for example, why someone was idling.  We can even immediately download and save the videos ourselves if we need them.” Both features enable access to video in near real-time.
