Many innovations await you in the ecosystem of the lighting manufacturer Signify. This launches a brand new, improved app and introduces advanced functions and exciting new products.Signify's WiZ app is getting a major overhaul for the first time since its launch in 2016.The app is the heart of the WiZ ecosystem, which was expanded to include numerous new products in June, making all functions possible. For example, the innovative SpaceSense technology is new. Thanks to Wi-Fi sensor technology, Wi-Fi signals can be used to detect movement of people. This should even work without any additional sensors.Only the minimal disturbance of the WLAN signals when there is movement through the room should be enough for WiZ lights to recognize whether there is movement in the room. The detection is omnidirectional and without any direct line of sight as is necessary with a traditional motion sensor with passive infrared technology (PIR).SpaceSense automatically illuminates the rooms and only switches on the light when a person enters the respective room. The sensitivity of the sensors can also be easily adjusted. This ensures that pets do not always turn on the light when they are moving. However, the basic requirement is at least two WiZ products in a room, which must be connected using the new version of the app.“At WiZ, we aim to make smart lighting more accessible and even more effective in everyday life. With the launch of the SpaceSense function, we are taking another big step on this path,” reveals Danny Lousberg, Head of Software Product Management at WiZ.To protect privacy and security, SpaceSense detects movement based solely on changing Wi-Fi signals.According to the manufacturer, the exact location and faces are not recorded. In addition, the data collected is only processed locally, without the system accessing the Internet or a cloud. If you wish, you can also simply deactivate the technology.SpaceSense can be used by most WiZ lighting solutions released since September 2021, as well as all Connected by WiZ products. This includes products like Philips Smart LEDs and other OEM and private brands that support WiZ.The WiZ app is also equipped with many other useful functions. For example, the user experience has been improved with even more intuitive operation. The app is designed in such a way that the lighting can react to individual needs and adapt to them. All rooms can be displayed and selected directly on the start screen, providing an overview of the luminaires used there. These can be switched on and off, while information about the set brightness is also immediately recognizable.Once the desired room has been selected, the brightness can be regulated and the lighting mood easily adjusted.Another new feature is the ability to use shortcuts to adjust the lighting even more quickly and in a more versatile way.Once set up, the lights can be adjusted with just one click and, if desired, even with their own shortcuts for each individual light source. With the improved light scene management, you can create your own light scenes even more easily. For this purpose, a photo of the room can be taken from the app in order to then save all current settings for the room in a scene. All lights of the scene created in this way can then be further adjusted. This continues to work even if you want to add or remove an additional light, all without having to re-record and adjust the scene.Scenes can be called up via app, WiZmote or with a voice assistant. The new WiZ app makes it even easier to see how much electricity the lights consume, for each light individually, while an overall value can also be displayed. The sub-category "Energy consumption" can be found in the "Settings" of the WiZ app.Furthermore, the app shows the power consumption of individual rooms or even individual devices in real time.Signify also introduced a new product in the form of the WiZ Outdoor light chain, which marks the first WiZ outdoor lighting product. From October 2022 it will complement the manufacturer's line-up, which was recently expanded to include the WiZ Mobile table lamp, the WiZ Pole floor lamp, the WiZ Bar Linear Light, new ceiling lights and spotlights and other lamps. The outdoor chain of lights creates the right mood for autumn, Advent and Christmas outdoors and allows lighting effects in 16 million different colors. It is waterproof and weatherproof, but can of course also create the right atmosphere indoors if desired. With the dynamic light mode, the festive lighting can also be individually designed. The 12 LED bulbs light up randomly in different colors that can be pre-determined depending on the selected light mode.In addition, there is the WiZ Ambiente Lightstrip with a length of four metres, which creates a cosy, indirect light on request, which can also be conveniently placed around objects thanks to its flexible design. The new, free WiZ app including the SpaceSense function will be available for download from the end of September 2022.Signify's WiZ panels will also follow in September. rectangular) to book. The WiZ Outdoor light chain will follow in October at an RRP of 119.99 euros, as
